CHEERS TO…ONE LESS LONELY GIRL
Cheers to Billie Eilish getting her full-circle moment with Justin Bieber and not even attempting to play it cool.
Because for all the theorising we could do about proximity, access, and the blurring lines between fan and celebrity - sometimes it really is that simple.
You grow up obsessed with someone.
You practice kissing on their poster (...just me? Oh 😳)
You cry over them in your bedroom.
And then one day - impossibly - you might be the One Less Lonely Girl girl.
And instead of pretending she'd outgrown it she just lived it and I reckon there's something so pure and radical in that.
Not everything has to be ironic.
Not everyone has to be cool.
Sometimes the coolest thing you can do is admit that the 10-year-old version of you is still very much alive (and absolutely losing her mind).
So whilst the posters on my bedroom wall were Josh Hartnett not Justin Bieber, I'm just bloody so happy for Billie.
Hooray for girlhood 💞
