USING YOUR VOICE

There's nothing I love more than participating in democracy in action.

Because making your voice heard at every level of government is an important right, incredible privilege and crucial to building a future and community that you want to be a part of.

All Councils across the state are required under the Local Government Act to deliver a range of long-term planning and financial management documents, and your local Council should currently have on exhibition their proposed 25-26 budgets and Community Strategic Plans (CSPs) for community feedback and comment - from roads, to infrastructure, development and community initiatives.

Outside of election periods, submitting your feedback to your local Council about their proposed budgets and CSPs is the best way you can ensure your voice is heard.

In Orange, this means that (amongst other things) Council funding and support for important cultural and social events, like the Rainbow Festival and Zest Fest, are up for review.

If you're Orange based, click the link below to have your say about what you want to see Council deliver for our city in the next 12 months and beyond.

You can also email them direct at council@orange.nsw.gov.au to make your comment - just ensure the subject line includes Budget 25-26 so your feedback is logged appropriately.

The deadline for community comment is Wednesday, June 4th.
