BITES OF EXCESS: JUne 2025
ATE:
Everything I possibly could at Attenzione! in Redfern. Chef's kiss. No crumbs.
Rowlee Dining & Bar. Standouts were the locally foraged Mushroom special, 12-hour slow-roasted Beef Cheek, and Miso Butter Green Beans. Just plain yum.
Asian Braised Beef from The Little Epicurean. I serve it with a bright and spicy Smashed Cucumber & Coriander salad, some fluffy rice, and maybe a little Roti situation if we're feeling indulgent.
DRANK:
An impromptu pit stop at ChaLou for a wine tasting was the perfect way to spend my Sunday arvo.
Spent the Long Weekend visiting Macquariedale (yes, the view and grazing boards are as good as they say), Canobolas Wines (sexy AF new cellar door and lip smackingly delicious Chardy) and Rikard Wines (seriously impressive and iconically Orange wines from the top of the mountain).
Watched:
Ru Paul's Drag Race: All Stars 10. Other people's guilty pleasure/comfort watch TV shows might be Real Housewives or Below Deck - mine is RPDR.
Call Me Alex and like…meh?
Read:
This 2025 Election analysis from Zee Feed's Crystal Andrews - on why Labor’s historic majority win says more about our fear of chaos.

On repeat:
I've been revisiting The Tortured Poet's Department: The Anthology, specifically songs 17 - 20 (The Black Dog, imgonnagetyouback, The Albatross, and Chloe or Sam or Sophia or Marcus). Sorry, not sorry.
Manchild by Sabrina Carpenter. Say less, queen.
Discovered Mummy Pig's Meditation Mix (yes, as in Peppa's mum) - and honestly, it slaps.
This piece first appeared in Excessive Consumption - a weekly dispatch on culture, branding, politics and whatever other modern internet brain rot the algorithm has emotionally assigned me that week.
